Terms of use

1What this app is

BackOfThe.House is a work app your restaurant uses for inventory counts, orders, deliveries, invoices, tasks and the 86 board. Your restaurant gave you this account so you can do your job.

2Your account

  • Your login is just for you. Don't share your password or let anyone else work under your name.
  • On a shared phone or computer, log out when you're done.
  • If you think someone knows your password, change it in My account and tell your manager.
  • Your manager can change what you can see and do in the app, or turn your account off.

3Use it for work, honestly

  • Enter real counts, orders, deliveries and invoices - the restaurant spends money based on them.
  • Before you leave, check nothing shows red "not sent yet". Anything saved only on your phone hasn't reached the restaurant.
  • Don't try to get into parts of the app or information you weren't given, or to break or overload the app.

4Photos and files

  • Only add photos and files for work - items, shelves, deliveries, invoices and receipts.
  • Don't upload pictures of customers or co-workers, or anyone's private information (like card numbers).

5What the app keeps about you

  • Your name, email, role and language.
  • What you do in the app and when - counts, orders, check-ins, notes and tasks - with your name on it.
  • Photos and files you add, which devices have notifications on, and sign-in records used to keep accounts safe.
  • This information belongs to your restaurant. BackOfThe.House keeps it only to run the app for them - it isn't sold or used for ads. To see or fix your information, ask your manager.

6Sales numbers from your POS

  • If your restaurant's POS (register) provider offers API access, your restaurant can connect it so the app shows sales and top sellers next to counts, orders and pars. Whether this is possible depends on the POS provider and the restaurant's plan with them.
  • The app only reads from the POS. It doesn't change anything there.
  • Your restaurant decides who can see sales. If you can see them, they're the restaurant's private business information - don't share them outside work.

7Emails and notifications

The app sends work emails (like your login link) and, if you turn them on, phone notifications. You can turn notifications off in the menu at any time.

8Don't copy the app

BackOfThe.House, backofthe.house and the kitchen-door logo are trademarks of BackOfThe.House. Don't copy, sell or share the app, its guides or its design outside your restaurant.

9No guarantees

We work hard to keep the app running and correct, but it's provided as it is. Phones lose signal, and vendors and invoices make mistakes, so check important orders and deliveries. To the extent the law allows, BackOfThe.House isn't responsible for losses from using the app.

10Your job

These terms are only about using the app. They don't change your job, pay, schedule or any agreement with your employer.

11If these terms change

The app will ask you to read and agree again the next time you sign in.
